Why We Moved Here: A Slower, Simpler Life

It Was Just... "Meant To Be...?"
You know when certain things... experiences... or paths come about in your life, and you think, "how on earth did I get here?"
I'm having one of those moments right now.
In fact, I've been having those "stars are aligning" (a.k.a. prayers answered!) moments since we made the past several big life decisions.
It's like the universe is pulling, pushing, and placing us right here. How ELSE could one feel when they start on one end of the Country and end up on the clear opposite end? Or, how about the transition from corporate careers to entrepreneurial? Or, what about 5 strategic moves in 8 years that put you in the most random, remote of places?
Here we are! But it's not random. It's very purposeful and very strategic. We just didn't know it at the time. That's probably where you are right now?
Moving is a PAIN. I have moved so many times I can't remember the number. Each one was worth it but good gosh golly, it's hard. Each move was strategic. Each move made sense at the time.
None of those moves before this one helped us to live out our best lives: with more purpose, more clarity, more slow paced joy, and more intention. This move allowed us - BEGGED US - to slow down and begin unraveling the years of stress, intensity, drama (we didn't even know we had!), and hussle. There's very little hussle in Washington and we like it that way.
Slow Town, Slow Living or Small Town, Big Living?
Which way do you see it?
You may have to come see for yourself.
It may be a matter of preference.
We fully understand slow, small town living isn't for everyone.
But -- we believe Washington offers a small town (with slow living) AND big living.
This means big joy, big intention, big friendships, big faith, big community, big adventure, big time slowing DOWN. Like, as in, slow..... your..... pace..... and .... slow..... your..... rate. Slowwwwwwwww dowwwwn. This is your formal invitation.
Living in Washington is an invitation to take more time for things that matter most. People that matter most. Take time for self care and self discovery, even.
If I could summarize "why did we move here?" it would be this....
Ultimately it was to give our children the experience of small town living.
But in the process, each one of us has benefited in unimaginable ways.
Our lifestyle is drastically different than it was 3 years ago. 6 years ago. 10 years ago. Each year that passes, we dive deeper into the slow-paced, simple living that Washington offers. (I've already got low blood pressure, but it's gone lower....)
As I look around, I know that being a Washington resident has provided much more than I ever thought. My expectations have been far exceeded. The benefits will far outlast me.
