Client Intake Meeting

This meeting is all about you! Once we’ve decided to move forward together, we’ll schedule a more detailed intake meeting to lay the foundation for a smooth and successful experience.

 

In this session, we’ll:

  • Define your ideal home criteria and must-haves

  • Walk through the full buying process and timeline

  • Review important documents, disclosures, and expectations

  • Set you up with your personalized search tools

This meeting helps us align on your vision and ensures you feel confident every step of the way. We’ll also review communication preferences and scheduling needs to keep things seamless and stress-free. Time: typically 30 to 60 minutes.

Your Custom & Private Home Search

Important Disclosures & FAQs

Does scheduling Step 1 mean I’m committing to work with you?

​

Step 1—the initial consultation—is completely complimentary and commitment-free. It’s simply a chance to get to know one another, ask questions, and determine if we’re the right fit for your home search.

​

That said, there are a few important legal disclosures we’re required to review with you as licensed North Carolina real estate brokers and NAR members:

​

1. Working With Real Estate Agents (WWREA) Disclosure

​

Before we discuss any personal home search criteria, we’re required by law and regulations to review the WWREA brochure with you. This brochure explains your rights as a buyer and outlines how real estate agents may represent clients.

​

  • This is not a contract—just a disclosure to ensure you understand your options.

  • You’ll be asked to sign an acknowledgment form, confirming we reviewed the document with you.

  • This is designed to protect you as the consumer and promote transparency from the start.

​

2. Buyer Agency Agreement Required Before Showings

​

Before we can show you any properties or represent you as a client, state law requires that we have a signed Buyer Agency Agreement in place.

​

This agreement:

​

  • Formally defines our working relationship

  • Allows us to represent your best interests exclusively

  • Enables us to legally keep your information confidential

​​

We understand this is a big decision, and we’re happy to offer additional time and consultations before moving forward. There’s no rush—just informed confidence.

​

​

Why Should I Hire a Buyer’s Agent?

​

When you hire a licensed buyer’s agent, you receive exclusive representation and a full set of fiduciary duties. That means we are obligated and expected to:

​

  • Promote your best interests

  • Be loyal to you—not the seller

  • Share all material facts that could affect your decision

  • Follow your lawful instructions

  • Use reasonable skill, care, and diligence

  • Protect your confidential information

  • Account for all funds related to the transaction​

​

Without this agreement, any agent you speak to—especially the listing agent—is not representing you and may be working for the seller’s best interest.​

 

Never share personal or financial information with any agent until your representation status is clear and formalized!
